About

To me the NFL Draft is the best day of the year, bar none. There is nothing like the excitement (or agony) of watching the strategy and moves of your favorite NFL team.

Everything you see here all started in 2006 when I decided to start this little blogger blog called the NFL Draft Notebook. I started posting mock drafts to share with my friends and on other blogs and forums, but I knew I wouldn’t end there.

My vision to create a draft community of enthusiasts who love projecting players to the next level as much as I do has culminated here at MDHQ. The mock draft creator, blog, and forum are just phase one of my vision as well.

Ultimately my vision is to make Mock Draft HQ the single best draft community in the world. That cannot happen without help from you. If you have any suggestions, ideas, or just want to chat don’t hesitate to contact me. We are always looking for writers!

Staff

D. Wash– Founder, editor.  I founded this site as the NFL Draft Notebook in 2006, which later became the site you are reading in 2010.  When I am not writing posts, I am researching, networking, or coding the draft application.  I’m a lifelong Broncos fan and a suffering Charlotte Bobcats fan.

Brandon– Brandon writes for our NFL section. Brandon was raised in the middle of Sooner Country; as a result, he is not only a big football fan, but a sports fan in general. His favorite teams include the Vikings, Sooners, Thunder, Twins, and Blackhawks. He is currently attending college for computer programming, with the aspirations of one day joining EA Sports to help design sports video games.

Chris– Chris covers the NFL Draft. Chris is currently attending USF, where his interests include pursing his passion of sports writing.

Chisom– Chisom is an adviser of the site.  He helps us plan growth and expansion efforts.  He’s an overly optimistic Carolina Panthers fan for reasons I do not understand.

Jabari– Jabari is our lead writer for the NBA Draft section.  You can usually find him researching the NBA and college basketball.  He’s an obsessed Washington Wizards and Redskins fan.  My condolences.

LaDarian– LaDairan will be covering the NFL Draft. Currently attending Chesapeake college on the eastern shore of Maryland he’s pursing a career in sports writing. LaDarian is an Eagles, Phillies, Flyers, and Sixers fan.

Max– Max covers the NFL Draft with regular mock drafts. His insights include extended two and three round mock drafts.

Mitchell– A student in the class of 2017 at Villanova University. Currently, in the school of liberal arts and sciences. Although his major is undeclared, he’s leaning towards either sociology or economics. Being born and raised in Annapolis, Maryland has led Mitchell to develop a taste for the sports realm of the ‘DMV’. The sports teams he follows — and have uninhibited enthusiasm for – are the Washington D.C. area teams such as the Redskins, Capitals, Wizards, and Nationals.

Shilen– Shilen is currently a college student but is am one of those people who spent at least an hour a day on ESPN, NFL.com, PPF, Walterfootball, etc “I can never get enough football and I always want to learn more about it.” He follows the NFL primarily but also college football the ACC particularly.

Ryan Brocco– Covering NFL Draft (and possibly NFL?). Current high school student, will be pursuing a career in journalism. Live in Twin Cities, Minnesota. Diehard Philadelphia Eagles fan.

Steve– Steve has developed an appreciation for the game of football throughout his years. Whether it has to do with the X’s and O’s, the veterans, the rookies, the coaches, stadiums, weather, economics, the combine, schedule release, prime time excitement, the Hall of Fame, the draft, free agency, etc, Steve is all about it. His “fandom” truly lies with the Buffalo Bills, but has a true passion for anything related to the NFL.

Tyler– Tyler has always had a passion for sports. Within the last year or so he’s started becoming serious on mock drafts, off-season analysis, and general sports writing. Tyler is the new head MLB writer. He’s a Minnesota fan except when it comes to football where he roots for the Packers, and Badgers.
