Rockaway, N.J. (Oct. 28, 2013)– Running back Harris Ross of Pittsburg (Calif.) High School was named the U.S. Army All-American Bowl High School Player of the Week, for the week ending October 26th. Ross rushed for 272 yards and 3 touchdowns, as Pittsburg defeated Freedom 34-13 on Friday night. The Pittsburg senior broke the school’s rushing and career touchdown records held by former Oregon State star and NFL running back Ken Simonton, who is now the school’s running back coach. Harris Ross dedicated the game to his slain 27-year-old cousin, who was found on his front yard October 8th. He was a victim of multiple gunshot wounds. Ross now has 1,831 rushing yards and 23 touchdowns on the season. He has committed to Oregon.
