I think we all saw this coming. The Jaguars have released TE Tim Tebow. Now don’t get me wrong, the old me would be celebrating but a much wiser version of myself has to be mature about this.
Yes, the Tim Tebow story is finally over. Yes, I was finally vindicated in my belief he wasn’t an NFL caliber player. However it is never a time to celebrate when another man or woman has to let go one of their dreams.
Tebow was a great college player, one of the best ever matter of fact. While his greatness on the college level is true that doesn’t and never did make him an NFL player. In the end, his style of play really had no home in professional football much like other great college players like Eric Crouch, Charlie Ward, etc. etc.
Tebow can walk away knowing he tried every avenue and made it further in the NFL than 99% of us ever will. That is nothing to be ashamed of.
