2019 Denver Broncos Mock Draft

What should John Elway do? The Broncos are in a unique situation where they are unable to find a true franchise QB and in a NFL where it’s harder and harder to rely on dominate defense. It is time for the Broncos to enter the new era of football and compete.

Kansas City looks dominant but with a few changes Denver can be right there.

So what should they do? YA BOY has got you covered. Someone print this out and mail it to John. Championship guaranteed… or maybe not.

NOTE: In this projection, Broncos release Chad Kelly and sign one or both of Teddy Bridgewater & Tyrod Taylor. Yes, I know QB is still an issue but you’re paying Case Keenum like a starter and realistically there isn’t a Andrew Luck in this class.

Round 1. Noah Fant, TE Iowa

With the above said, Denver turns their eye to a sore spot no one really wants to talk about. There is no TE on this team that can get vertical or create true matchup problems.

Round 2. Deebo Samuel, WR/RB South Carolina

Deebo is still on my board as a first round pick so I qualify this as a steal! I know he suffered an injury last year and isn’t as explosive as last year but another year away from the injury and he will be right back. This NFL more than ever requires anytime players on offense and Deebo is the best one in this class. Plus, you know… they’re trading DT.

Round 3. Chris Lindstrom, OG Boston College

You can never go wrong getting younger at the interior line. He may not come in as a starter but you cannot miss a chance to add depth.

Round 4. Derrick Baity, CB Kentucky

Several CBs on the Broncos are free agents and will likely be gone. Baity is a 6’3 ball hawk that will probably not be here but if he is, get him.

Round 5. Mark Fields, CB Clemson

See what I’m trying to do? Another big physical corner to go with Baity.

Round 5. Jalen Hurts, QB Alabama

Hear me out. Jalen won over 25 games, two chips and is the only player to throw for 300 and rush for 100 in a game at Alabama. I know he just got injured with an ankle sprain, I know Tua is better. He isn’t asked to do anything here but come to camp healthy and soak up knowledge from Case Keenum and Bill Musgrave. The physical talent is there. If he works out it could be an all time steal.

For those that are skeptical, let me ask you this: how much of a difference is there in Jalen Hurts’ and Dak Prescott’s potential at this same point?
