Giants Scouts Reportedly Eyeing Shedeur Sanders as Future QB1
The buzz around Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders continues to grow, and...
2020 was a season that we will never forget. For better or worse al of our lives were impacted in a way that will take years to recover from. Thankfully with the help of science & medicine there is a light at the end of the tunnel. This year we should see a full NFL slate with less opt outs, more fans, and more consistent football.
But who will your team draft? Let’s get on to the mock draft:
1. Jacksonville Jaguars
Trevor Lawrence QB, Clemson: Hey guys, find you a woman that looks at you the way Urban Meyer looks at Trevor Lawrence. All jokes aside, this is a prototypical QB that has every tool and the arm to push it down field. Meyer is somewhere drawing up some special plays for his new QB.
2. New York Jets
Zach Wilson QB, BYU: Jets can grab the best player on their board and hold on to see what happens. Wilson is a true feast or famine type of QB, NY better hope it is a feast.
3. San Francisco 49ers
Mac Jones QB, Alabama: If you give up three first rounders to move up, you are selecting a quarterback. Mac is ready to play now and favorably compares to Kirk Cousins. He is a guy that will fill up the stat sheet with good players around him but never be the reason you actually win. At the very least he’ll have the one ability Garappolo doesn’t have and that’s availability.
4. Atlanta Falcons
Kyle Pitts TE, Florida: One of the highest TE prospects of all time gets added to an offense that needs a shot in the arm. Probably a bad choice of words for 2021 but hey, here we are.
5. Cincinnati Bengals
Ja’Marr Chase WR, LSU: Yes a tackle or guard could go here but instead the Bengals try it again with Joe Burrow’s hand picked guy. They’ll grab a guard in round 2 or 3.
6. Miami Dolphins
Jaylen Waddle WR, Alabama: Is Tua a starting QB? We’ll find out because he Dolphins are going to throw as much talent as possible around him.
7. Detroit Lions
Penei Sewell OT, Oregon: Jared Goff needs a clean pocket to be successful. This is the least the Fords can do to make sure the next new chapter of Lions football is successful.
8. Carolina Panthers
Caleb Farley CB, Virginia Tech: The Panthers got their QB in free agency and fall back to drafting defense.
9. Denver Broncos
Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah LB, Notre Dame: Fangio is not leaving the draft without J-O-K. This guy plays exactly like Roquan Smith who Fangio had with him in Chicago and played very well.
10. Dallas Cowboys
Rashawn Slater OT, Northwestern: If you’re going to pay Dak you have to make sure he stays clean in the pocket. The Cowboys OL isn’t as elite anymore due to nagging injuries and they may have to inject some new blood.
11. New York Giants
Patrick Surtain II CB, Alabama: The Giants dropped the bag in free agency on offensive players to it makes sense to step up and add a top corner here.
12. Philadelphia Eagles
Alijah Vera-Tucker IOL, USC: Is Jalen Hurts a legit QB or a Taysom Hill gadget player? We will find out in 2021.
13. Los Angeles Chargers
Kwity Paye EDGE, Michigan: this could be Phillips but I think the medicals drop him a bit.
14. Minnesota Vikings
Christian Darrisaw OT, Virginia Tech: Slater could end up top 10 when it’s said and done. In this mock that is the case so the Vikings take Darrisaw.
15. New England Patriots
Justin Fields QB, Ohio State: This is not where I think Fields will actually be drafted but I think there is no way Bill Belichick sees Fields’ value depreciates for no reason at all and doesn’t pounce on him like Gamestop stock.
16. Arizona Cardinals
Jaycee Horn CB, South Carolina: Another team that dropped the bag in free agency and has a few spots left on defense to sure up.
17. Las Vegas Raiders
Micah Parsons LB, Penn State: Does Gruden like Trey Lance enough to trade up for him? We’ll see. In this universe The Raiders stand pat and grab Parsons to add a rangy fast run supporting LB.
18. Miami Dolphins
Jaelan Phillips EDGE, Miami: The medicals drop him (he had to quit football once before for concussions) but Jaelan’s slide stops at home. The Dolphins will be one of the most comfortable teams with him because they are going to obviously be able to get the most information on him.
19. Washington Football Team
Trey Lance QB NDSU: Again, this is not where I think he’ll get drafted but this is the correct team. The WFT is not fooling anyone with Fitzmagic. Ryan is not a longterm investment. He’s a teacher to teach someone who you think can be your potential franchise guy. Who in the draft has played the least amount of quarterback at a high level but has all the tools if he gets the right teacher? Yup, Mr. Liv Cowherd himself.
20. Chicago Bears
Rashod Bateman WR, Minnesota: The Bears missed out on a quarterback and aren’t going to reach for Kellen Mond (or are they?) Considering Allen Robinson has wanted a trade for a while I’m mocking WR here.
21. Indianapolis Colts
Greg Newsome II CB, Northwestern: A team that has the talent to get out the AFC but could always use talent in the defensive backfield.
22. Tennessee Titans
Trevon Moehrig S, TCU: Kenny Vaccaro is still in free agency, so the Titans bring in another safety that can cover ground.
23. New York Jets
Jayson Oweh, DE/OLB, Penn State: The Jets have their QB and now look towards finding a pass rusher they believe could be a steal here.
24. Pittsburgh Steelers
Travis Etienne RB, Clemson: For some odd reason James Conner is a free agent. The Steelers never look like they are willing to call in the Brinks truck, so here goes his replacement.
25. Jacksonville Jaguars
Kadarius Toney WR, Florida: The Jags get their offense together with a nice QB/WR duo to start the new era.
26. Cleveland Browns
Azeez Ojulari EDGE, Georgia: Jadeveon Clowney has not signed yet and JJ Watt chose the Cardinals. The Browns bring in an EDGE one way or the other.
27. Baltimore Ravens
Terrace Marshall Jr. WR, LSU: Free agent receivers don’t want to play in this offense, so they have to draft a guy.
28. New Orleans Saints
Gregory Rousseau EDGE, Miami: The Saints grab up extreme value in the EDGE rusher from Miami. If he falls this far that is very good fate for the Saints.
29. Green Bay Packers
Zaven Collins LB, Tulsa: Sorry Aaron they are never drafting you any offensive talent. The Packers will keep drafting everything but wide receivers and tight ends despite the obvious.
30. Buffalo Bills
Rondale Moore WR, Purdue: Josh Allen almost brought this team to the Super Bowl and all they need is a few pieces.
31. Kansas City Chiefs
DeVonta Smith WR, Alabama: The slide stops. If Smith slides because he is 6′ 165 lbs. there is one team in the NFL that will draft him just to harass us poor Broncos fans and that is the Chiefs. There is no way they would contain themselves and there is a roster spot open thanks to Sammy Watkins going to the Ravens. Yes this is a code red doomsday event for the fans of the other AFC West teams but I have this sneaking suspicion that the Chiefs might even trade up to do this.
32. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Najee Harris RB, Alabama: PLAYOFF LENNY is back but he was a bit overhyped. Long term these free agents won’t be around so grabbing the BPA for the post Brady era is a smart move.
