By now everyone knows that the Lions are looking to trade Matt Stafford. That is unfortunate as Stafford is the franchise player but at 32 years old he is ready to play for a contender and start fresh. The Lions are looking to fulfill the trade request under one circumstance: they want someone to “overpay” for Stafford’s contract.
I’m not sure what that means. The Lions are possibly looking for multiple draft picks and a good player in the deal. With Deshaun Watson also on the trade market it will be interesting to see who responds to the Lions.
