I’m not sure if this is a first, but I’ve never seen a QB lose his starting job because his own team took him out. That’s right, Tyrod Taylor has officially lost his starting job because the team’s doctors stabbed him incorrectly with a needle and punctured a lung.
Chargers coach Anthony Lynn announced today that Herbert will remain the starter even if Tyrod Taylor is healthy and active for Monday night’s game at New Orleans. Taylor will be the No. 2 quarterback if he’s cleared to play after suffering a punctured lung from a painkilling injection administered by a team doctor. -PROFOOTBALLTALK
Herbert has played well in Tyrod’s absence but there definitely should be something done. Maybe he can sue the team or work with the NFLPA in some kind of way.
