It finally happened. The Washington Redskins are going to retire the name Redskins after Fedex publicly pressured the club to do so. This is amazing considering that owner Dan Snyder has publicly said he would never change the name but of course money talks.
It’s always been about money. That’s why Washington’s always had drama over the years regarding the stadium, training camp location, and even with specific player contracts.
According to Sports Business Journal, the #Washington Redskins will announce they are retiring the #Redskins nickname on Monday.

Well, at least the name will change and they can move forward from there.
My favorite idea is renaming the team to WFC Washington Football Club.
