The XFL will always be one of the biggest ‘what if’s” in sports history. The first XFL in the early 2000’s only lasted one season and now it’s 2020 cousin has also met the single season fate.
Due to the ongoing virus concerns, the XFL has decided to shut down. All employees have been laid off and they are not coming back in 2021.
Vince had to make a choice and decided it was time to fold them. Even though the league had enough cash on hand to go three seasons without a profit Vince decided it wasn’t worth setting more cash on fire to lure a big TV deal down the line.
Hopefully all the players and staff land on their feet. It’s tough times for everyone. We have to hang in there.
