Shilo Sanders Draft Stock Takes Hit After Struggles Versus K-State
Known for his hard-hitting style, Shilo Sanders has been criticized for...
We are back at it. The Chiefs just layed the smackdown on the Broncos, but we’ll address that later. For now here are the latest picks by Cowboysfan and his Dallas Cowboys.
His picks below:
1. Cowboys: Noah Fant TE Iowa
Round 1: The Cowboys need weapons and if they’re not going QB in this draft, then getting a WR and/or TE is a must. I don’t think Swaim is bad, but he’s more of a 2nd TE that can block. Fant isn’t a great blocker, but he’s an excellent TE who can stretch the field. He’s similar to Evan Engram, but not as shifty. He will sometimes bobble passes, and his light stature at about 232 concerns me, especially if you want him to block in line. I understand Dallas likes blocking TE, but at some point you just need guys who can make plays and Fant presents a dangerous threat regardless of where he lines up.
2. Cowboys: Andrew Wingard S Wyoming
Round 2: Safety is a big need for this team. I think the Cowboys have a few young solid safties, but they could always get better. I think Dallas could try and sign Lamarcus Joyner or Earl Thomas next year, but SS would still be a need. Heath isn’t bad, but he’s getting older at 29 years. Wingard is just a tackling machine, he has over 200 for his career, averaging about 100 per season. He’s more of a box safety, who has expanded his coverage ability. While I wouldn’t put him man on man, as a zone coverage guy he may excel. He is a sure tackler and diagnoses plays well. If anything he’s a better version of Heath if you like that type of player.
3. Cowboys: Collin Johnson WR Texas
Round 3: Collin Johnson has an amazing athletic profile. I do think he will rank higher than this by season’s end. I see more of a borderline first rounder, but I could see him fall if he has consistency issues similar to what he had as a sophomore. He’s 6’5″ 230 lbs. He is a monster physically, and I expect him to run mid 4.5 to 4.6. He isn’t blazing fast, but his long stride allows him to cover ground quickly. His strong legs make it near impossible to tackle him low. He has a wide catch radius, and will make adjusted catches. He is a great redzone threat given his size. One on one, I would match him against any CB and trust him to make the play. I like Marquise Brown more, but he’s my 2nd best WR and he’s 5’11” and I doubt Dallas wants another WR under 6 feet given Tavon and Beasley are on the roster.
4. Cowboys: Devin Singletary RB Florida Atlantic
5. Cowboys: Olive Sagapolu DT Wisconsin
6. Cowboys: Hunter Renfrow WR Clemson
