Giants Scouts Reportedly Eyeing Shedeur Sanders as Future QB1
The buzz around Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders continues to grow, and...
West Virginia QB Will Grier headlines CowboysFan’s latest 2019 draft picks. Grier stands tall amongst the 2019 draft class after posting an impressive 2017 season which compiled 34 touchdowns, 12 interceptions, and a 64% completion percentage.
This is a very early projection but and things could change but it looks good for Grier in this projection. Mocks are made to change so take it easy as you read the analysis below.
On to the picks.
1. Dolphins: Will Grier QB West Virginia
Biggest Needs: WR, CB, and QB. Ryan Tannehill has not improved as a QB, and the Dolphins have made quite a few changes to help him, but nothing has worked. It’s time to look for a new signal caller. Grier isn’t the most mobile QB, but his size and armstrength are impressive. He throws well and accurate. Some may have concerns about the college level offense he plays, but I think with his skillset he could surpass every QB in this draft.
2. Bills: Ed Oliver DT Houston
Biggest Needs: WR and DT. The Bills traded away Darius and they need a replacement. Oliver is a special player who is capable of playing any spot on the defensive line and even LB if need be. At 290 he moves very quickly and showed up against the best competition as well. He is an elite pass rusher who should have no issue stopping the run. I think there could be a little concern that he was hurt a bit this year that caused him to miss games.
3. Jets: Nick Bosa DE Ohio State
Biggest Needs: Playmakers and Outside Pass Rush They could go with AJ Brown, but you don’t pass up on a top tier pass rusher when you have the chance. Nick is a bit more twitchy than Joey Bosa, but his talent level is of the same calaber. He may not be a Von Miller off the edge, but his ability to get off the line and play with positioning and technicial finesse will serve him well in the NFL and will pair well with the young stud Leonard Williams.
4. Colts: Dexter Lawrence DT Clemson
I think the Colts could go any number of ways here, but if they are serious about soldifying their defense then Lawrence is the best possible pick. He’s a mountain who stuffs the run with some, but not elite pass rush ability. He will help anybody in the defense as he demands all the attention due to his size and strength.
5. Buccaneers: Greg Little OT Ole Miss
Biggest Needs: O line, secondary help, running back The Bucs have some needs, but nothing that compares to their O line. The Bucs have tried to repair their lackluster line, but to no avail. Keeping Winston up right and opening holes in the run game is what they should be aiming for. They do so by getting the best O linemen by far. Despite his massive size he moves well in the run game able to get to the second level. He also anchors well in the passing game. If there is a weakness there are times where he gets heavy footed which will hurt him against experienced edge rushers.
