Shilo Sanders Draft Stock Takes Hit After Struggles Versus K-State
Known for his hard-hitting style, Shilo Sanders has been criticized for...
18. Titans: John Ross WR Washington
The Titans get a homerun hitter who will finally give Marcus Mariota the deep threat he has needed. The Titans are building a very talented team and have 1 of the best rushing attacks in the league but now they get the weapon in the passing game they have lacked.
19. Cardinals: DeShone Kizer QB Notre Dame
.The Cardinals are able to fall back and acquire additional picks while taking their QB of the future. Kizer has not been impressive in the draft process but his ceiling maybe higher than any QB in this class. Palmer was on the fence about returning this year so AZ has to operate under the assumption this is his last year. Arians has done wonders with QBs so if anyone can get the best out of Kizer it would be him. This is the perfect opportunity for Kizer to sit for a year and learn from a vet QB like Palmer and be ready to take the reigns in 2018.
20. Broncos: Garett Boles OT Utah
The Broncos need to upgrade on the OL specifically at OT so they take Bolles who should come in day 1 to compete for the LT or RT spot. The Broncos still do not have the QB situation figured out so protected whoever is back there and attempting to run the ball will be a must.
21. Patriots: Forrest Lamp OT Western Kentucky
***TRADE***NE trades picks 32 & 72(3rd rd) to the Lions for pick 21, This trade is 20 points on the chart. The Lions and Pats did business last year with the Kyle Van Noy trade so there is a comfort level. The Pats do not have a 2nd round pick so they could be worried the top Guard prospects will be gone. The Pats weak link is the OL right now, specifically at Guard so they jump ahead of the rival Miami Dolphis who have a large need at G and get the best O-Lineman in the draft. The Pats still have another 3rd round pick so they can address other needs at that time.
22. Seahawks: Ryan Ramczyk OT Wisconsin
***TRADE***Seattle trades picks 26 & 102(3rd rd comp pick) to the Dolphins for pick 22. This trade is within 12 pts on the value chart. The Dolphins don’t get their guard so they know they can fall back & get better value at other positions of need. The Seahawks have to jump up because in a weak Ol class 2 of the best O-Linemen go back to back and they have the Giants and Texans in front of them who both need OT. They move up and secure a tackle who can start day 1. The Hawks have 3 3rd round picks so they can afford to part with 1 to ensure they get the tackle they need.
23. Giants: David Njoku TE Miami
All of the top OL just went ahead of the Giants so they continue to upgrade the weapons for Eli. Njoku is 1 of the most athletic TE’s in this class & will be a great target down the seam to beat the cover 2 defense teams are deploying to contain OBJ. Njoku along with FA acquisition Brandon Marshall, 2nd year stud Sterling Shepard and superstart OBJ has to have Eli dreaming of a 3rd Super Bowl.
24. Raiders: Gareon Conley -CB, Ohio State
Gareon Conley -CB, Ohio State. The Raiders have a few options here but I just went with BPA that fills a need and Conley at 24 is a great value that fills a major need. Conley has great size and speed and will fit right in with the defense the Raiders are looking to build.
25. Texans: Patrick Mahomes QB Texas Tech
I believe the Texans will get Romo but at best he gives maybe 2 years & you cannot count on his health. Mahomes will get to learn under O’Brien & Romo and perhaps be ready to take over long term starter job in 2018 or 2019. This will finally give O’Brien the drafted prospect for him to groom that he has always wanted.
26. Dolphins: Tre’Davious White CB LSU
The Dolphins fall back and still address a position of need while getting more picks. White is a top CB in this class and will fit in nicely as the 3rd CB which is needed in todays games.
27. Chiefs: Christian McCaffrey RB Stanford
Great value getting McCaffery at 27 as he has crushed the draft process. The Chiefs lost Jamal Charles and in McCaffrey they get his replacement. Reid will have a field day figuring out ways to deploy this weapon in not just the run game but in the pass game as he can run routes as good as WRs.
28. Cowboys: Jabrill Peppers S Michigan
I have previously mocked DL to the Cowboys but Peppers is a freak athlete and can impact the game in so many ways it may be impossible for Jerry Jones to pass up. The Cowboys lost Barry Church in FA as well as Mo Claiborne and Brandon Carr so they have to upgrade the talent in the secondary….especially after what the Giants and Eagles have done on offense in FA.
29. Jaguars: Cam Robinson OT Alabama
***TRADE***The Jags trade picks 35(2nd rd), 110(4th rd) & 187(6th rd) to the Packers for pick 29. This trade within 1 pt on the chart. The Packers are happy to fall back and get more picks as they know they can get quality in the later rounds for their needs. The Jags are making a huge push this year and they need to give Bortles every chance to succeed. They traded for LT Branden Albert but RT & G need to be upgraded. Robinson is the last of the top tier OTs in this class so the Jags move back into rd1 to secure they get him.
30. Steelers: Takkarist McKinley OLB UCLA
The Steelers lost Jarvis Jones and Lawrence Timmons to FA & James Harrison cannot play forever. The Steelers have to upgrade the pass rush as was evident in the AFC championship game as Tom Brady carved them up. This is great value for Takk as some have him as a top 20 player.
31. Falcons: Charles Harris DE Missouri
Vic Beasley broke out last year but they need someone opposite of him as well as building depth. The Falcons gassed out at the end of the Super Bowl in part because the offensive play calling was ridiculous but also because the did not have any quality rotation on the DL. Harris along with Beasley will be a nice combo that should continue to improve under Dan Quinn.
32. Lions: Malik McDowell DT Michigan State
The Lions have to be ecstatic about McDowell falling to 32. They have never been able to replace the loss of Suh and while McDowell is not that caliber of player he has flashed the potential to be a pro bowl D-Lineman. He can play outside or inside on the DL so as long as the Lions can keep his motor and motivation high the Lions got a massive steal at the end of rd1.
