The Lakers held a meeting with Dwight Howard earlier this week to persuade him to stay with the Lakers. Kobe Bryant attended the “Please stay Dwight!” meeting, and attempted to motivate the big man into staying in town to learn how to win titles. Allegedly Bryant told Dwight “let me teach you how to be a champion.”
The funny thing about motivational words is that only a handful of people are really good at it. You have to be careful that your message is clear and that it will render the intended effect upon the recipient. Allegedly, Dwight Howard left the Lakers because of Kobe Bryant’s words.

The Lakers will be fine because… they are the Lakers. That and they have over $50 million to spend in 2014. The only person signed beyond the upcoming season is Steve Nash. The Lakers will look to land Carmelo Anthony, Lebron James, or Dwayne Wade in the summer of 2014. Yes people, we aren’t done with decisions any time soon. Get your popcorn ready, it’s going to be a wild year in the NBA.
