Giants Scouts Reportedly Eyeing Shedeur Sanders as Future QB1
The buzz around Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders continues to grow, and...
The college football landscape has been rocked. By a man named Johnny Football.
That’s right, Johnny “Football” Manziel and his Texas A&M Aggies did the impossible and body slammed #1 Alabama at Alabama. It was a tough, slug-fest of what I like to call GROWN MAN FOOTBALL. If you love big defensive plays, big hits, and comebacks this was the game for you.
I am going to spare you all the details because we all know that Alabama was knocked off balance by A&M’s early scoring drives and never really recovered. But what did this game mean for the NFL Draft and the prospects in it?
Well, Luke Joeckel looked fantastic and probably cemented himself as a top 15 selection barring any surprises during his draft process. DJ Fluker also did well, and I could see him sliding back into the first round alongside his teammates Barrett Jones and Chance Warmack.
I know everyone wants to know where Johnny Manziel would get drafted and if he is eligible… the question is no. He’s a freshman. I think sometime during the game he was compared to Ty Detmer and that’s a fair comparison. He’s a very good runner on the outside and throws an adequate ball. His passes are by no means Tom Brady spirals but there is some talent there, we’ll just have to see if he evolves into more of a passer than a runner later in his career.
The SEC has a problem because Manziel is the type of quarterback who is probably going to play all four years in college. There isn’t a huge market for 6 foot quarterbacks to enter the draft early. That just means I could be writing many more of these “Johnny Football just beat _______” posts in the future.
