I’m just poking a little fun with the title, but for anyone that saw the NFL’s opening game it was evident that Victor Cruz had a little bit of dropitis in him. Cruz dropped at least three on target passes Wednesday night.
Don’t worry Giants fan, Cruz plans to spend more time focusing on making the catch from here on out:
“There’s no excuses for me,” Cruz said. “I have to catch those footballs.”
Dropped passes aren’t an official NFL statistic, but by one count Cruz had at least 10 of them last year. Giants coach Tom Coughlin acknowledged after the game that that’s a problem.
“Victor sometimes has concentration lapses where he tries to run before he catches the ball,” Coughlin said. “It was just a concentration lapse and something he’s got to continue to work on.”
