“Who are you to be criticizing a blog that sold for a million dollars?”

I know that’s probably what you are thinking but hey it’s still all in good fun.  I noticed this mock posted up on TheBigLead and decided that I’d chime in with my two cents.  Just like I chime in on McShay and Kiper.

Now first thing is first, I don’t know it all.  This is purely opinion.  It’s early in the season.  A lot can change.  With that said, my comments are below each selection.  Here we go…

1. Miami Dolphins – Andrew Luck, QB, Stanford

Ok, if you must mock him to a team other than Denver…

2. Jacksonville Jaguars – Justin Blackmon, WR, Oklahoma St.

I can’t argue this, Blaine needs as many weapons as possible to succeed.

3. Indianapolis Colts – Matt Kalil, OL, USC

Peyton is pleased.

4.  Kansas City Chiefs – Landry Jones, QB, Oklahoma

Is he that much better than Cassell?  Some people wouldn’t say that he’s sooo much better that the Chiefs need to invest more money at the QB spot.  I’d go for Jonathan Martin here.

5. St. Louis Rams – Jonathan Martin, OL, Stanford

Over Trent Richardson when they just took Roger Saffold?  Stephen Jackson will not play forever.

6. Seattle Seahawks
 – Matt Barkley, QB, USC

Pete Carroll won’t argue this pick.

"TheBigLead has me going to Cleveland?!"

7. Cleveland Browns – Trent Richardson, RB, Alabama

Very lucky if they end up with Trent here.

8. Arizona Cardinals – Vontaze Burfict, LB, Arizona St.

Why not?  Riley Reiff is the next best OT and isn’t going top 10.  You also might look for a CB and move Peterson to safety.

9. Carolina Panthers – Jerel Worthy, DT, Michigan St.

No way in hell Worthy goes top 10 right now.  Unless he goes Nick Fairley the rest of the season Worthy is going to go in the 20’s or 30’s of this draft.

10. Denver Broncos – Dre Kirkpatrick, CB, Alabama

I see John Fox selecting DeCastro the guard from Stanford if he can’t get Luck or Richardson. Where the hell is Quinton Coples in this top 10?

11. Minnesota Vikings
– Morris Claiborne, CB, LSU

The Vikings could go reach for a OT here.  Or just take Claiborne. Not bad.
12. Oakland Raiders – Cliff Harris, CB, Oregon

Love Cliff Harris, but if he goes top 15 it will only be because Rosenhaus gets him and sells him as the next Primetime or something crazy like that.

13. Cincinnati Bengals – Alshon Jeffery, WR, South Carolina

Mighty lucky fortune for the Bengals here. Cant argue this value.

14. Tampa Bay Bucs – Stephon Gilmore, CB, South Carolina

Great pick here.

15. Tennessee Titans – Jared Crick, DL, Nebraska

The say he goes higher? I have Crick going a little lower actually.  He’s a niche fit as a 3-4 end, not a game changer as a 4-3 DT.

16.
Buffalo Bills – Manti T’eo, LB, Notre Dame

I’d like this pick for the Bills.

17. Chicago Bears – Brandon Thompson, DT, Clemson

Cutler needs interior protection and Mike Brewster and DeCastro are both still on the board….

18. Washington Redskins – Luke Kuechly, LB, Boston College

Landry gone, Barkley gone…. but RG3 is not! How does Shanahan resist Robert Griffin III at this spot in the draft? He won’t get a crack at him in round 2.

19. New York Giants –  Courtney Upshaw, LB, Alabama

Not bad.  Giants need LB help right now.

20. Cleveland Browns (from Atlanta Falcons) – Quinton Coples, DE, North Carolina

Ironically I have the Browns getting Coples and a RB, just in the reverse order.

21. San Francisco 49ers – Riley Reiff, OL, Iowa

A nice value pick, though that would be a crapload of first rounders on that line.

22. New York Jets – Brandon Jenkins, LB, FSU

Any defensive player or WR is a good fit for the Jets.  They fell off hard after last season.

23. San Diego Chargers – Dont’a Hightower, LB, Alabama

Larry English dislikes this pick.

24. Dallas Cowboys – Jayron Hosley, CB, Virginia Tech

Dallas needs a CB, why not.

25. Pittsburgh Steelers – Andrew Datko, OL, Florida State

I’d give them Zach Brown here.  Though I cannot argue Datko either.

26. Philadelphia Eagles
 – Zach Brown, LB, North Carolina

100% agree with this selection. The Eagles STILL miss Jeremiah Trotter.

27. Houston Texans – Ray Ray Armstrong, Safety, Miami

I don’t see how he goes over McDonald from USC or Kenny Tate as far as safeties are concerned.  But it isn’t the worst pick.  I think the Texans take the NT from Washington though.  Greater positional need.

28. Detroit Lions – Alfonzo Dennard, CB, Nebraska

Cant argue this either.  Lions corners have been serviceable but they still need help.

29. New England Patriots (from New Orleans Saints) Billy Winn, DL, Boise State

Not going to argue this as I haven’t paid a ton of attention to Winn.  Will have to do my research.

30. New England Patriots – Peter Konz, OL, Wisconsin

I agree that this pick will be traded. (and in my mock draft, I predicted that Robert Griffin III goes here to some other team.)

31. Green Bay Packers – Mike Adams, OL, Ohio State

Can’t argue this either.  The Pack could always use a LB on the other side of Matthews though.  Maybe they get that in round 2 in this scenario.

32. Baltimore Ravens – Melvin Ingram, DE, South Carolina

I agree he could crack the first round.  Baltimore is an intriguing spot for him.
