Oklahoma LB Travis Lewis Breaks Foot, Out for 8 Weeks

Another day. Another injury. According to sources Oklahoma LB Travis Lewis is going to be sidelined for the next 8 weeks with a foot injury. In case you were wondering, yes, that same Oklahoma that is ranked #1 overall right now.

Lewis, the preseason Big 12 defensive player of the year, will not require surgery. OU head athletic trainer Scott Anderson said the treatment for the injury will consist of rest and immobilization.

Lewis stands to be a top 50 pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. He may have been a first round selection in the 2011 draft. We’ll see if he can come back and light it up for a few games in 2012.
